WILL HYPNOTHERAPY WORK FOR ME?

It is important to know that anyone CAN be hypnotized if they choose to be.  For some, relinquishing control is difficult and when one holds back, hypnosis becomes more challenging for them.  That said, sometimes allowing oneself to let go depends greatly on other factors, that will also directly affect the results people achieve in hypnotherapy.  Among these factors are:

      #1 - Client's MOTIVATION to change

Until such time the person in the chair is ready and desires to make changes, the likelihood of long term success will decrease.  The higher the motivation, the better the results.

      #2 - Client's WILLINGNESS to work

Hypnotherapy is not a magic pill.  Often, the changes that need to be made may require a deep analysis of emotions, past experiences, and/or a change in behavior.  Homework is part of my practice...journaling, hypnosis recordings, self hypnosis, saying affirmations daily, logging information, etc.

#3 - Good RAPPORT with the Hypnotherapist

It is very important that each individual feel a level of trust and respect when working through personal matters.  These sessions are confidential, but it is important you feel very comfortable and open with the person you work with.

#4 - Competent SKILL of the Hypnotherapist

Not all hypnotherapists are created equal.  Some have more training and/or have been trained with reputable institutions...others have not.  You want to know you are working with a qualified therapist who is truly professional.

Hypnotherapy is an educational, self-improvement process that facilitates access to internal resources to assist people in solving problems, increasing motivation, and/or altering behavioral patterns to affect positive change.  I am a hypnotherapist with core beliefs in Christianity, and am not licensed nor formerly trained to practice medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, or theology.  My hypnotherapy services themselves are not intended to diagnose or treat any illness, disease, or mental health condition.  ReVisions Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for care from trained physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, pastors/ministers, or counselors, but rather, is an adjunct therapy to support the client's positive outlook, goals, and treatment plans, as well as address the client's emotional and spiritual blocks.
